Notes for Carl Petter Jonsson
The parish records revealed that the Fryxell family led the exodus from Vattlosa Parish to the New World. Although the parish's first emigrant was actually the young aristocrat Ivar Alexis Hall, who left for America in 1857, it was Fritiodf (Fryxell)'s great-uncle, Carl Petter Johansson, who sparked Amerikafeber among the common folk of Vattlosa. He left the family farm at Amfinnsrud in 1869 with his wife and five children and headed for New York. They were the first family to leave Vattlosa Parish for the United States, but many more would follow.
